San Xavier Mission, Tucson, Arizona celebrated the tenth anniversary of the Canonization of St. Kateri Tekakwitha. The Tohono O’odham who traveled to Rome for the Canonization prepared an anniversary remembrance. Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity joined the people for prayer. Several statues of St. Kateri graced the Mission as we prayed her Chaplet and Litany and sang songs.
The celebration continued on the 22nd with Mass, a procession to the Feasthouse, rosary and lunch. In the afternoon the Basket Dancers performed and people shared stories about their devotion to St. Kateri. The day ended with another procession around the Feasthouse grounds.
