The Benefit for the Children sponsored by the St. Francis of Assisi Home and School, Yuma, Arizona, is an annual fundraiser dinner, dance and auction that is held in late spring. 
It is an event celebrated by the entire Yuma community as we are greatly supported by local businesses and corporations that donate their time, talents and/or sponsorship to make this fundraiser a great success.
Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity were in attendance and actually contributed to the evening.
Sister Mary Beth Kornely’s donation, a personally crocheted Yuma County Purple Ribbon Fair winner Afghan, sold for $600 during the live auction. Sister was grateful to contribute to the needs of children with the work of her own hands.
