On September 13, 2024 Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity Sister Rosalyn Muraski, Marlita Henseler and Carla Riach were invited to attend Tucson San Miguel High School’s 20th Anniversary Celebration. Friday evening we attended the Founder’s Mass and Dinner. Bishop Weisenburger celebrated the Mass at St. Monica’s Church. That was followed by a Cocktail reception and a catered dinner in the school gym. Dave Mason, president and CEO, welcomed everyone and specially recognized Sister Rosa Maria and Jim Click who were instrumental in the foundation of the school.
Mr. Mason then recognized Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Patty Busch who commissioned a statue of Saint John Baptist de La Salle which will be placed in the school foyer. During the meal we were entertained by the Compania de Danza Folklorica Arizona. One of the dancers is a student at San Miguel High School.
The evening closed with celebratory remarks by Mr. Jim Click and many photos.
Three of the 2008, first graduating class, were present including San Xavier’s Karlette Miguel. Sister Marlita was entertained at her table with the ladies reminiscing. Al three of the Sisters felt very privileged to be invited.
The school held a fiesta on Saturday which was open to the public.
