Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity living at San Xavier Convent in Tucson, AZ and serving at Cristo Rey San Miguel High School, the Diocese of Tucson, Santa Cruz Catholic School. and San Xavier Mission School were among more than 2000 people who attended the Tucson March for Life on Sat. March 19, 2019! Sister Ellen Pachmayer, Sister Leonette Kochan, Sister Mary Ann Spanjers and Sister Rosalyn Muraski began with a Mass for Life celebrated by Tucson Bishop Edward Weisenburger.
Sister Leonette was the one who organized all the logistics of the beautiful Mass. Sister Mary Ann’s San Miguel students read the prayers of the faithful and joined in the procession!
All were invited to walk in silence and use the time for personal prayer and awareness of the gift of life. The meaningful, peaceful four mile March concluded at the Catholic cemetery with a rose ceremony recalling the children lost each year since abortion was legalized. The beautiful 70 degree weather was a blessing from God for all of us who marched!
