Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Mary Ann Spanjers shares on Tucson San Miguel High School’s celebration of its patron saint St. John Baptist de la Salle.
San Miguel Lasallian High School is celebrating the 300th anniversary of the death of St. John Baptist de la Salle! Pope Francis has declared this a Jubilee year for all Lasallians!
Our San Miguel high school is a Jubilee site! Among the various activates done to celebrate San Miguel high school students, Lasallian Brothers, faculty and staff took part in a pilgrimage from San Xavier Mission to San Miguel high school.
Fr. Bill Minkel, OFM, pastor of San Xavier, concluded the opening prayer with a special blessing. Sister Rosalyn, Sister Carla and Sister Mary Ann joined the pilgrims for the prayer.
Sister Mary Ann participated in the pilgrimage. Upon arriving at San Miguel the pilgrims made and packed lunches for the immigrants and refugees at Alitas Center for refugees here in Tucson! St John Baptist de la Salle would be proud of his Brothers and all the Lasallian teachers and students!
