Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Hannah Johnecheck offers desert wisdom in the spirit of ‘waiting’ for the Advent Season. Sister Hannah is a primary school teacher at St. Peter Mission, Bapchule, Arizona.
There is, perhaps, no better place to pray, “Maranatha”, “Come Lord Jesus!” than the desert. The desert has a way of emptying the soul. The land has basic, brown soil and magnificent, but few, desert plants. God seems to make the land of our soul just the same. Then we can truly welcome the babe of Bethlehem.
