These days have been filled with farewells of gratitude for Fr. Stephen Barnufsky, OFM! Fr Steve ministered here at San Xavier Mission for the past 16 years to the Tohono O’odham people and to our community of Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity!
The basket dancers paid special tribute to him, many testimonies were spoken, blessing prayers were prayed over him, delicious food at every event along with many expressions of gratitude. One of the most mentioned gifts Fr. Steve shared with us were his inspired homilies for so very many Eucharistic celebrations, funerals, anniversaries and at Mass each day! Please join us in prayer for Fr. Steve as he continues his Franciscan journey into retirement at San Louis Rey, CA.
