Franciscan Sister Named Teacher of the Year

Franciscan Sister of Christian Charity Sister Mary Teresa Bettag was named Yuma Catholic High School Teacher of the Year 2022. Educating the whole person is at the heart of Sister Mary Teresa’s teaching style.  This is noted by her colleagues: “In Sister Mary Teresa’s classroom every student is heard and every student has a voice. She makes all of her students individually feel as if they are the most important person in the world. She challenges her students with in-depth questions which promote engagement and deep thinking in the classroom.”
