The desert is not all about brown sand and intense, hot sun. There are all kinds of beauty around if our eyes are open. These Sonoran Desert mesquite trees treated me with both shade and beauty as I left the convent this morning. These peacocks were not to be outdone by the beauty and refreshment of the mesquite trees. Keep your eyes open! God always has little bits of beauty and refreshment amidst life’s deserts.
